Nassau PBA's fifth annual Veterans Day food drive hits record numbers! Members of the Nassau County PBA and their families banded together with Island Harvest to conduct our most successful Veterans Day food drive to date. The day's totals netted over 8 tons of food and more than 500 turkeys! The collection will benefit Island Harvest's Operation: HOPE initiative, a food drive to benefit Long Island Veterans and their family who are in need.
"We asked our friends at the Suffolk PBA to get involved with us this year; I'm sure we will at least double last years' numbers", said Joe Nocella, Corresponding Secretary of the Nassau PBA. "This is something our members look forward to every year. We have such tremendous respect for the members of our military. If they find themselves falling on hard times after they return from active duty, we want to do whatever we can to help. This is an honor for us."
