WATCH-President McDermott addresses Legislature on Detective Shortage

County Executive Laura Curran and Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder are perpetuating a fraud against the residents of Nassau County by saying the shortfall in the number of Detectives is a "contractual issue" when it clearly is not.

FACT: The Nassau County Police Department currently has 309 Detectives while the County budget contains funding for 360. County Executive Laura Curran and Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder refuse to utilize the resources that are already available to them to help combat the MS13 and opioid crises.
