First Squad Detectives report an arrest for Attempted Murder that occurred on Saturday February 2nd at 10:53 pm in Baldwin.
According to Detectives, a female victim,24, was walking back to her vehicle from a house in Baldwin, when she heard a window open. When she turned around she observed the Defendant, climbing out of a second floor window and stepping into the roof. The Defendant then pointed a gun directly at the victim and fired three shots directly at the victim, missing all three times.
Victim called 911, and gave arriving Officers a description of the subjects vehicle, which the subject fled scene in.
A short time later a Fifth Precinct Officer hears the notification of the incident and description of the vehicle and defendant. The Officer simultaneously with hearing the notification, already had the vehicle and defendant pulled over in West Hempstead.
As they approached the vehicle, they observed 2 additional passengers in the vehicle with the defendant. Officers observed one of the passengers had a silver handgun in his waistband. After a struggle, Officers were able to arrest the passenger of the vehicle.
The passenger is charged with Resisting Arrest, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree
Defendant is charged with, Attempted Murder 2nd Degree, Reckless Endangerment 1st Degree, Criminal use of a Firearm 1st Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree.
The operator of the vehicle was charged with Hindering Prosecution 3rd Degree.
