Elmont, August 16, 2019: Arrest for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property

The Fofth Squad reports the arrest of three individuals for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property that occurred on Friday, August 16, 2019 at 12:25 A.M. in Elmont. 

According to detectives, Officers while on routine patrol were notified by a license plate reader located in their RMP of a stolen vehicle. The officers identified the vehicle, 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and conducted a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop at the intersection of Hempstead Turnpike and Elmont Road. The vehicle was confirmed to be stolen and the operator was placed under arrest without incident. 

During the course of a thorough investigation it was determined that another vehicle, 2010 Honda Accord, had also been stolen in connection with the first vehicle. The Honda Accord was located in Mineola. 

Defendant, are charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th Degree, Unauthorized use of a vehicle 3rd Degree,  and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 3rd Degree. Co-defendants, are charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th Degree, and Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle 3rd Degree.
