Second Precinct Officers responded to the Broadway Mall parking lot for a child locked in an auto. Upon arrival they discovered a three year old girl left unattended in a child seat in the rear of the car. The officers were able to quickly gain access to the vehicle at which time the defendant returned to the auto. The investigation determined that the defendant was the child's nanny. It also revealed that the defendant while inside Target removed items and exited without paying for them. The child was taken to an area hospital where she was treated for dehydration.
The defendant was charged with Petit Larceny and Reckless Endangerment 1st Degree.
