Westbury, March 4, 2019: Arrest for Robbery

Third squad detectives report of a Brooklyn women for Robbery that occurred on Monday, March 4, 2019 at 2:26 P.M.  in Westbury. 

According to detectives, a female entered Saks Off 5th Avenue, located in Westbury, and proceeded to remove merchandise from the store without making payment. Two loss prevention employees followed the defendant outside the store and identified themselves. Defendant became uncooperative, combative, and a struggle ensued. The defendant began to kick and strike the two loss prevention employees. Officers responded, assisted the loss prevention employees and help subdue the defendant. Defendant was placed under arrest. 

During the physical altercation, defendant bit one of the employees on his arm. The victim, 44, was transported to an area hospital for treatment. 

The second employee, 23, suffered swelling and bruising to his right knee. 

Defendant is charged with Robbery 2nd Degree, two counts of Assault 2nd Degree, Possession of Burglar Tools, and Criminal Mischief 4th Degree.
