PBA Top Cops: April 2017

THIRD PRECINCT
Police Officers
John Villano
Joseph Dentici
Christopher Accordino

On April 10, 2017 at 0121hrs Officers John Villano and Joseph Dentici were working Rmp317. They received a radio assignment for a larceny from a gas station in Bellrose. PO Christopher Accordino was working RMP 308 and also responded to the assignment. When officers arrived at scene they observed a subject wearing a hooded sweatshirt, a beanie hat, and sunglasses. The victim pointed to the subject and said “That’s him”. Officers placed the subject in handcuffs for their safety as they conducted an investigation. At that time the subject told officers that he had a gun. The officers searched the subject and recovered a 9mm handgun, two 15 round magazines filled to capacity with hollow point rounds. The subject was also wearing body armor and had a mask and gloves on his person. Upon further investigation it was discovered that the subject was in the process of conducting a robbery at that location.

Because of these officers’ speedy response and prudent reactions at the scene this subject was safely arrested. A dangerous weapon was recovered along with ammo and body armor, and they prevented the subject from committing any further crimes that night. For this we are proud to honor these officers as our Top Cops for April 2017.
