Police Officers
Steven Deng
Megan Terracciano

On May 14th 2016 at approximately 1338 hours, Police Officer Deng and Recruit Terracciano while working RMP 714 responded to a radio assignment for shots fired in the vicinity of Field of Dreams athletic complex in Massapequa. When officers arrived on scene they observed that the area was holding a small street fair and had an increased number of pedestrians in the area. Officer Deng was flagged down by the victim who informed him that a male white subject removed a black handgun from his waistband and fired several shots at him and multiple civilians while fleeing on foot. The subject then entered a black Lincoln Navigator and fled east towards Amityville. Officer Deng immediately broadcast a notification and began to canvas. Officers Deng and Terracciano were able to find the vehicle on Broadway and Ireland Pl. As the officers approached the vehicle they observed two subjects inside. Both officers conducted a felony car stop taking both subjects into custody. A simulated 9mm pistol was recovered at the scene. Further investigation revealed that the victim had posted a Craigslist ad in order to sell his I-Phone 6. The subject after looking at the phone attempted to rob the victim at gunpoint with no intention of purchasing it. The defendants were charged with Robbery, Menacing, and Criminal Possession of a weapon. For their dedication to duty and quick action both officers were able to safely apprehend to dangerous individuals.
