On September 24, 2017 at approximately 0016 HRS, 5th pct Officers Luis Ascencio, Jacques Dartiguenave and Margaret Woloszyn received a radio assignment for the robbery of a 7-11 in Valley Stream.
Two subjects entered the 7-11 and put a gun to the clerks head, demanding money. A witness was able to get a description of the vehicle that the subjects fled in.
Officer Woloszyn was able to locate the vehicle that was occupied with one of the subjects. The subject fled from the vehicle on foot. Officers Ascencio and Dartiguenave were able to apprehend the fleeing subject.
The subject was charged with reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon.
Because of their quick response and training Officers Luis Ascencio, Jacques Dartiguenave and Margaret Woloszyn were able to take a gun off the street. This is why we are proud to name these officers our Top Cops for September 2017.
