Beyond the Badge NY raises suicide and mental health awareness, to address the growing mental health crisis that the first responder community is currently facing. Services and support are for those individuals who serve as first responders.
The Crisis Center provides walk-in evaluation and treatment to assist patients in their recovery from a wide range of psychiatric conditions and emotional issues. Services include crisis psychotherapy, evidence-based screening assessments, diagnostic evaluations, short-term treatment, medication management and referral, and linkage to follow-up care. Most major insurances are accepted.

Blue Line offers a safe, discreet treatment space for first responders. Blue Line understands and respects the needs and concerns that are specific to first responders, and provides professional, culturally-competent treatment. Blue Line Psychological Services understands police culture, including the organizational and operational stressors inherent to police work, and incorporates this cultural-competence into the treatment of first responders.

Forge VFR was founded by Veterans and offers specialized mental health and substance use treatment designed to address the unique culture, preferences, and values of first responders, emergency and health care professionals, veterans, active-duty military, and their families.

Congress established the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) in 1992 to make substance use and mental disorder information, services, and research more accessible.
The Mobile Crisis team consists of licensed professional social workers and nurses who are specially trained to help individuals, and their families, with mental health problems.
If you or a family member is experiencing a mental health crisis call the Team. Social workers and nurses travel to homes, schools, work-sites and other locations in Nassau County.
The Team responds in the same day and provides supportive crisis intervention for children and adults who are experiencing an emotional disturbance, interpersonal crisis or psychiatric emergency.
Provides education and resources to law enforcement officers and agencies and those who support law enforcement including colleagues, friends, family, and clergy members.
It is the mission of Blue H.E.L.P. to reduce mental health stigma through education, advocate for benefits for those suffering from post-traumatic stress, acknowledge the service and sacrifice of law enforcement officers we lost to suicide, support families after a suicide and to bring awareness to suicide and mental health issues.

Offers 3 Long Island locations to assist parents or friends of a parent who has lost a child. A self-help organization offering friendship, understanding, and hope to bereaved families that have experienced the death of a child, grandchild, or sibling.
Our individualized care and support services address physical, emotional, spiritual, and social needs, and are provided at all end-of-life stages, including bereavement. It’s our team’s mission to make the final days and months of those who are ill as peaceful, meaningful and dignified as possible.
Substance Abuse
Fellowship of people who come together to solve their drinking problem. Membership is open to anyone at no cost who wants to do something about their drinking problem. A.A.’s primary purpose is to help alcoholics to achieve sobriety.
Mutual support program for people whose lives have been affected by someone else’s drinking.

New York State OASAS- Licensed, to operate chemical dependency treatment programs. Treats addiction as the primary illness, but also deals with collateral problems most substance abusers present with upon admission to our programs (i.e. emotional, financial, familial, legal, spiritual, etc). County agency dedicated to providing programs and services for the over 60 population, Nassau County’s Office for the Aging empowers older persons to live more independently community wide.
Veteran Programs
Serves veterans as an advocate for compensation, pension, education and training, vocational rehabilitation, and additional benefits for survivors, burial, and hospital care. The agency provides free transportation for veterans to either the Veterans Administration (VA) Hospital in Northport or the VA health clinic in East Meadow.
