PBA TOP COP: October 2016

SECOND PRECINCT
Police Officers
Robert Magnfelt

On October 6, 2016 Police Officer Robert Magnfelt was on directed patrol for commercial burglaries when he heard an audible alarm coming from 6 Duffy Ave. in Hicksville.

He requested assistance and performed an outside search of the building. It appeared to be secure with no signs of entry. He still sensed that something was wrong when he observed an interior door opened. He remained on the scene and continued to watch the building when he observed a male wearing a hooded sweatshirt standing inside. PO Magnfelt had assisting officers secure a perimeter around the building and convinced the subject to come out of the building without incident. The subject was placed under arrest and charged with Burglary in the 3rd degree.

Because of Officer Magnfelt’s quick response, alertness, and observation skills in apprehending this subject in the course of what is normally considered a routine alarm and for that he is our top cop for the month of October 2016.
