On August 24, 2017 at approximately 0016 HRS, 5th pct Officers Henry Mbiaka and Paul Song received a radio assignment for a shot fired in Valley Stream. A description was broadcasted and the officers conducted a canvass of the area.

The officers located a subject at a nearby Sunoco gas station. The officers stopped and searched the subject. Officer Mbiaka recovered a handgun from the subject’s front pocket and placed the subject under arrest. The subject was charged with reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon.

Because of their quick response and training Officers Henry Mbiaka and Paul Song were able to take a gun off the street. This is why we are proud to name these officers our Top Cops for August 2017.
